the receipt of your
informing
letter of the 17th instant;
me that in accordance with
the rule that makes Public Servants accountable for every sum officially received by them, the Government must hold me responsible for the money which was robbed from the Registrar General's
Office by one of the Office Clerks as reported in my letter of the 16th instant.
